Year 3

2011 CHICKEN STUDY - HATCHING & REARING

2010

How we made our daffodils. First we sketched our daffodils on calico material. After we painted and blended with orange and yellow on our petals. After we carefully painted our background with white and blue. Then we careful sewed our petals with needles and thread. Tegan’s Nana was helping. I felt proud of my work when it was finished.

We sketched it first then pointed it and then we did the background then we waited for it to dry then did the sewing. It was tricky because it was hard finding the hole and I kept poking myself with the needle. It was hard putting the button in the middle and my helper was Jess and Mrs B then Mrs B is going to put stuffing in them.

During the afternoon Room 16 sketched some daffodils on our tables. Mrs B taught us how to draw the daffodils and once we were finished our sketching we went onto our painting. We had to paint the flower first then we went on to our stalk, then the background. Once we’d done our background we did our sewing. My Nana Mrs Barker helped me and Natalya. I felt really proud of my work. Once Mrs B makes them into a cushion they are going to The Warehouse for Daffodil Day.

Darkness

Trees swaying frightening me by the way they swishand turn so easily

There’s nothing you can do to stop them

In the darkness down below more things

Must be found from this tree.

Nothing that can stop them

No No No nothing at all

You must not move

You must not climb it if you see it locked up

Peacefully

See it dancing in its shadow

Oh so scary

Leave it be

Nothing you can do to stop it waving in its shadow

Till sunrise

Shadows will always appear at night

Some may stay in the sunlight

Just leave it be.
